Join us once a month at noon for an hour lecture with some amazing presenters! Bring your sack lunch and come learn with us!

Fishing Museum & Cultural Center historian Jerry Berg joins us on August 15th as he leads us on a trip back to Michigan’s early days of fishing, focusing on the late-1800s. In addition to an overview of the unique styles of fishing and equipment used by anglers of the time, he will also lead us through the most emotional aspect of Michigan’s fishing history: the Tragedy of the Grayling!

Jerry Berg has a double-major BA from GVSU in both history and education and has a long history of working in the professional education and public history fields. He currently runs three museum organizations; the Swordsmanship Museum and Academy, the Lumberjack and Logging Museum, and the Fishing Museum and Cultural Center, where he acts as head educator and curator. He has been giving public history presentations for over 15 years.

Lunch & Learn lectures are FREE with Museum admission.
