Welcoming Environment: The Michigan Maritime Museum has an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic or religious background, descent or nationality, age, height, weight, sexual orientation, gender & gender identification, disability, marital status, or any other characteristics protected by law.

Smoking: Smoking (including vaping, etc.) is not permitted on any Museum property including our On-Water Fleet, outdoor campus, and parking lot.

Accessibility: Museum campus and exhibits are handicap accessible with the exception of our On-Water Fleet, some historic buildings and the Evelyn S. fish tug exhibit.

Service animals: The Michigan Maritime Museum welcomes guests accompanied by registered service animals, in compliance with federal and state laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Michigan state guidelines. To ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors, and to help our staff provide appropriate assistance, the following policy applies:

• Service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are permitted in all public areas of the Museum.
• For identification and safety purposes, service animals must wear a visible service animal vest or tag at all times while on Museum property.
• Medical alert animals are also welcome, provided they have official identification tags and/or supporting documentation presented to the front desk.
• Emotional support animals, therapy animals, comfort animals, and pets are not permitted, as they do not meet the ADA definition of service animals.
